Options (Solent Addictions Trust) has provided Southampton with a FREE substance misuse service for nearly fifty years.  From small premises in Shirley Road it expanded over the years, establishing links with district and city councils, the National Health Service, primary care trusts, social services and other government agencies.

As Options responded to local needs, new services were set up in various towns around Hampshire, whilst the Southampton service went from strength to strength.  All branches offered one-to-one counselling, group support, information and education in the addictions and substance misuse field for users and their relatives.

In the past few years, in partnership with Gamcare, Options has been able to widen its interests and now offers FREE one-to-one counselling to gamblers and their families.

Now Options is offering its long and valuable experience to the whole of Hampshire and is extending its service to include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), general counselling, training, education and workshops to individuals and organisations.

We offer a variety of counselling approaches provided by a team of skilled professional counsellors with many years experience of dealing with a vast range of personal, family and work place issues.

All Options' experienced counsellors have been professionally trained and work in line with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy framework for good practice, and receive regular clinical supervision to ensure the highest quality of service is maintained.

Options' philosophy is that the best way to help a client (you) is to provide a safe and comfortable environment, working with staff who are there for you and will not judge you but listen to you and support you. The combination of environment and skilled help will enable a client (you) to make any necessary changes to enhance their (your) lives.
